ECNG GPA Calculator

The GPA Calculator is an Excel spread sheet that calculates a student's overall weighted GPA and class of degree. The different versions of the GPA calculator reflect changes in the University's GPA scheme.

This calculator is based on the old GPA scheme.

Instructions: Enter letter grades in the appropriate cells. Change the credit to zero for exempted for failed courses. For repeated courses enter the course code, credit value and grade in extra the cells on the right. Ensure that all repeat spaces that are not used have a credit value of zero.

This calculator reflects the new GPA scheme with F1, F2 and F3 set at 40-49, 30-39 and 0-29 respectively.

Instructions: Fill in the cells shaded in a lighter color. Enter letter grades for attempted courses. Enter grades and credit values for repeated courses, leave extra spaces with F3 grade and 0 credits. Change credit for exempted courses to 0.

Special cases in 2014-2015 and 2015-2016

This is a special sheet that has F1, F2 and F3 set at 45-49, 40-44 and 0-39 respectively. It accepts marks and generates the letter grades with a lookup table. It is for students who wrote exams between the GPA change and the relaxing of the F1, F2 and F3 thresholds in 2016-2017. During this time there may have been cases where the Banner system mapped marks to the wrong letter grade.
